Martha Gentry's Home Selling Team of Re/Max Prime Properties was named one of America's top real estate teams and is now a member of the Real Estate Top 200, a new national awards ranking sponsored by The Wall Street Journal, REAL Trends, and LORE Magazine.
The Real Estate Top 200 rankings were announced this month at the National Association of Realtors (NAR) Annual Conference Expo in New Orleans.
Fifty residential agents or teams were named in four categories: Individual agent, sales volume as a buyer's representative; agent as a seller's representative; agent team, sales volume; and agent team, transaction sides.

Martha Gentry closed 376 transaction sides in 2004, ranking her team 43 in the U.S.
"With more than a million real estate agents nationwide, becoming a member of the Real Estate Top 200 is an incredible accomplishment, and this ranking is our way of paying tribute to America's top real estate agents like Martha Gentry," said Anne Murry-Rudolph, publisher of LORE Magazine.
"Gentry ranks in an elite group of individual agents and teams from markets throughout the nation and she should be quite proud to join the ranks of the top 200, " said Marti Gallardo, vice president of classified advertising for The Wall Street Journal.
Gentry, whose team has consistently placed in the top five for Re/Max Carolinas and in the top 50 for Re/Max International, said that she was nevertheless surprised to make this additional list.
"Re/Max is the largest and most successful real estate company in the world in terms of sales volume and units sold per agent," she said. "I knew that since we have placed so highly in the Re/Max system, we were bound to be competitive with other teams from around the country, but this is the first survey that I'm aware of that has actually compared real estate agents and teams, franchise and non-franchise, from all over the United States.
"I had no idea we would place in the top 50 in transaction sides. My team was thrilled. There were high fives all around!"
The latest recognition caps a number of achievements for Martha Gentry's Home Selling Team in 2006.
Earlier this year, she was chosen, along with her husband, Peyton Gentry -- co-broker and owner of Re/Max Prime Properties -- to the prestigious Star Power lineup for the highly successful Howard Briton's Star Power Club.
Each year, the Star Power Club (SPC) selects 12 real estate professionals and recognizes them for outstanding achievement.
A recorded interview featuring Gentry and Peyton was sent to thousands of SPC members across the country. Gentry was also featured in the recently publisheded "Re/Max Success Stories" as one of the outstanding agents in the Re/Max system.
"This has been a great year for our team," Gentry says. "Most people recognize me because of all of the advertising we do, but the real stars are the unbelievably dedicated and talented members of my team. This is the finest group of people I've had the privilege to work with in over 30 years I've been in real estate. We're looking forward to a very successful 2007."
